Dr. Marco D. Castro
Dr. Marco D. Castro is a graduate of the Georgetown University School of Medicine. He completed a surgical internship at Georgetown University Medical Center and then a medical internship at Union Memorial Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. He completed his neurology residency at Georgetown University Medical Center. This was followed by a fellowship in clinical neurophysiology, including electromyography and electroencephalography at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He is now in the full-time practice of general neurology including electroencephalography, evoked potentials, and electromyography.
Dr. Castro has special interests in the field of epilepsy, long-term epilepsy monitoring, and evaluation of patients with complex seizure disorders. In his fellowship he was active in long-term epilepsy monitoring and the clinical management of patients with difficult-to-control seizures using the newest anti-epileptic medications and the Vagal Nerve Stimulator.
Dr. Castro joined the Neurology Center of Fairfax in 1998. He is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry & Neurology, and has an added certification in Clinical Neurophysiology.
