Dr. Richard C. Seestedt
Dr. Richard C. Seestedt received his B.A. from Cornell University. He did magnetic resonance spectroscopy research at the University of Pennsylvania for three years where he worked with several renowned neurologists who piqued his interest in the field of neurology. Dr. Seestedt earned his M.D. and completed his Neurology residency at Thomas Jefferson University. He then did his fellowship in stroke and cerebrovascular disease at Emory University in Atlanta where he participated in several stroke-related research protocols, early stroke interventions, and cared for a variety of hospital patients. Dr. Seestedt is now in the full-time practice of neurology.
Dr. Seestedt joined the Neurology Center of Fairfax in 1999. His areas of interest are Cerebrovascular disease including acute stroke treatment, carotid stenosis, and TIA. Dr. Seestedt is a member of the Inova Fairfax Hospital Stroke Response Team. He is also on the Cerebrovascular Quality Committee. Dr. Seestedt is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology with an additional certification in the subspecialty of Vascular Neurology.
