Dr. Robert N. Kurtzke

Dr. Robert N. Kurtzke received his B.S. in biology from the University of Notre Dame in 1981 and his M.D. from Georgetown University School of Medicine in 1985. He interned at the Washington Hospital Center in Washington, D.C. and completed his residency in neurology at the Neurological Institute of New York, during which time he served as Chief Resident in Neurology and Muscular Dystrophy Fellowship. He completed an additional Fellowship in Neuromuscular diseases and Electromyography at Duke University Medical Center in 1990.

Dr. Kurtzke joined the Neurology Center of Fairfax in 1990. He specializes in nerve and muscle disorders as well as electomyography (EMG). Dr. Kurtzke has served as co-chairman of the Carrier Advisory Committee for Medicare. He is a certified Diplomat by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, with added qualifications in clinical Neurophysiology. Dr. Kurtzke is a fellow and an Oral Board examiner of the American Association of Neuromuscular & Electro diagnostic Medicine. He is currently President of the Virginia Neurologic Society.
